About Us

Emerald Coast Business Women's Association is a 501(c)6 not-for profit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of business and professional women through support, networking, mentoring, and education. To this end, the organization engages in fundraising through the annual Death By Chocolate event to provide scholarships to deserving students.

The group originally began in 1999 as a Chapter of a National Business & Professional Women’s organization.  The 12 charter members had a vision to promote the interests of local business & professional women. They also wanted to share information and extend opportunities to local women through education.

In 2004, the thriving group decided that keeping the dues and funds local made more sense in accomplishing the mission of the organization. Emerald Coast Business Women’s Association, Inc. was formed.  At this time the vision and focus truly became “promoting local business & professional women and funding scholarships for returning students attending local colleges.”

Our one fundraiser has funded nearly $280,578 in local scholarships. Death By Chocolate is held every year on the first Tuesday in March. It has become one of Bay County's signature events!

We meet monthly for lunch, a speaker and networking. We typically have an after-hours social every year to visit with prospective members. Reservations are necessary. If you are interested in membership and know someone who is already a member, please reach out to them and let them know you are interested in attending a meeting. Or you can send an email to info@ecbwa.com to let us know you are interested and we will contact you.
